A Brief Overview The Sr. Manager, Production is responsible for the execution of planned production and ensures that all resources are assigned skillfully and efficiently. The Sr. Manager, Production will ensure the manufacture of products is met in relation to timelines, quality, and quantity. Further, they will serve as deputy to the Director of Production. During the absence of the Director, they will execute, lead and support the tactical activities within the department. 
What you will do Manage and lead one or more team(s) of Production Chemists and Technicians for peptide manufacturing Supervise all peptide manufacturing stages which include: synthesis, cleavage, purification, reconstitution and lyophilization • Deputy of the Director Production Supervise in-process analysis in all manufacturing stages Assign tasks for team members and follow up on right first time and on-time completion  Ensure that written procedures (SOP, BPR), HSE and cGMP guidelines are followed Review and complete cGMP documentation, initiate Deviation Reports, investigate Deviations and define and implement CAPA's. Propose and initiate Change Request/Change Control for general improvements or to eliminate time consuming workarounds/ inefficient processes Ensure efficient collaboration between Production department and other supporting departments such as Operations, Logistics, QC, and QA Train Production team members to the required standard of operation and evaluate and communicate their performances Adhere to manufacturing schedules and timelines – communicate scheduling conflicts as early as possible  Propose and implement technical and chemical improvements of the manufacturing process Ensure safe, efficient and conscious use of the instruments, raw materials and other resources Ensure and improve manufacturing and personnel safety and working hygiene in the workplace Write technical reports and summaries Train new hires in peptide manufacturing Leads technical projects in production from the user role Lead or support special tasks that are assigned to the Production Department  Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent Several years laboratory experience Extensive experience as a production chemist in a cGMP environment  Extensive and proved successful production manager experience Proven leadership skills and the ability to manage challenging situations with employees Familiar with scientific equipment and utilities including but not limited to production Working experience with cGMP and safety regulations Working experience with cGMP manufacturing and documentation standards Demonstrated strong project management, and managing multiple priorities Clearly and concisely, communicate key project milestones to business partners and upper level management. Providing guidance to direct reports, typically comprising first-line managers and supervisors Ensuring clarity around priorities and goals for the entire group Approving requests for investment to a certain level of authority Managing overall financial budgeting for their function Approving requests within their group for increase of headcount and terminations   Guiding the talent identification and development processes for a group or function Working across functions with peers in other groups to ensure collaboration for shared goals  Interacting with senior management for reporting Working with senior management and other peers for strategy development and execution planning  Communicating financial and goal results and key performance indicators to direct reports  Facilitating goal-level creation for the broader function and working with managers to ensure the goals cascade to all workers  Experienced in communication with the customers, throughout the production process Solid PC knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, planning tools and ERP systems (SAP preferred) Proficient with various in-process analytical methods Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to effectively organize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment Ability to communicate in a proactive and solution-focused manner, including keeping management aware of potential issues Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems Ability to work independently and manage one's time Communicate effectively on all levels and ability to function well in a team environment Preferred Experience in Organic Chemistry and cGMP Extensive experience as a (Peptide) production chemist  Proficient with all peptide manufacturing stages Experience with Manufacturing Equipment such as Reactors for Commercial Scale Experienced project leader Our people are passionate about what they do, the product they sell, and the customers they serve. Base Hourly Range: $113,848 - $156,541 Placement of new hires in these wage ranges is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
