Job Summary: The Precollege Advisor (PCA) is responsible for advising and facilitating college readiness programming to an assigned caseload of students through the completion of the precollege program, and post-secondary enrollment. This position is also the local site administrator for an Academic Centers for Enrichment (ACE); an after-school tutoring program hosted within Madison Metro School District (MMSD) and will assist in supporting partnerships between PEOPLE and MMSD, and the Madison community.

Under the direction of the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Diversity & Inclusion, Vice Provost and Chief Diversity Officer (DVCDI/VPCDO), the Division of Diversity, Equity & Educational Achievement (DDEEA/Division) supports the mission of the University of Wisconsin-Madison as it works to create a diverse, inclusive, and excellent learning and work environment for all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and partners at the university. The DDEEA is comprised of administrative, education, scholarship, and service programs whose work overlaps with the core values of community, inclusion, organizational excellence, transparency, and accountability. The DDEEA collaborates, leads, and consults in efforts to seed new initiatives and coordinate numerous institutional efforts to support, guide, and promote these priorities.
Responsibilities: Delivers and assists with planning pre-college program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote a stable and productive relationship between the university and community. May assist with tracking and managing a pre-college program budget. 5% Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the pre-college program 10% Schedules, secures, and communicates logistics and resources in support of a pre-college program 10% Delivers pre-college program content and materials to community members 5% Researches, develops, and facilitates pre-college program content and materials 5% Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement 5% May assist with monitoring of pre-college program budget spending 20% Serves as a main point of contact to students and provides information about educational options and academic requirements 10% Provides support in identifying appropriate fields of study, career options, or programs and refers students to appropriate resources 20% Leads the implementation of program policies and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers 10% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, training, managing conduct and performance, and approving hours worked Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. Qualifications: Required:
- At least one year of work experience advising and supporting students in their educational goals
- At least one year work experience with a college access program and/or precollege students that provides tutoring and/or other college readiness services
- Some supervisory/professional leadership experience.
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
Preferred:
- Work experience with targeted PEOPLE demographics (Low Income, First Generation) preferred.
- Current drivers license; with a clean driving record.
Work Type: Full Time: 100%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary: Minimum $48,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
- The starting salary for a candidate who needs to learn the responsibilities of the position and is not yet performing the full scope of the position is between $48,000 and $50,000.
- The starting salary for an experienced candidate who can fulfill most job responsibilities independently is between $50,000 and $53,000.
Actual pay is determined at hire and is based on experience and qualifications.
