The Role The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and developing High Performing Teams in the Manufacturing department. Responsible for driving and delivering key performance indicators of OTIF, Productivity and Cost through manufacturing managers, supervisors, and team leads. As a key member of the Site Leadership Team, you will develop strategies for your departments to ensure that the standards for safety, quality, operational effectiveness, and financial performance are achieved.
Be responsible for owning the department's culture which includes safety, quality, and financial performance. Supporting the General Manager in developing and communicating a clear vision and strategy for the manufacturing departments, establishing the goals and metrics to drive improvement, and establishing an environment where the team can exceed goals, including but not limited to: Establishing clear and challenging objectives for the operations team and assessing performance against those objectives. Shaping the organization and its culture to optimize effectiveness and to attract and retain talented people. Providing strong leadership and maintaining good employee relations at all levels through own behaviors and communication channels, creating a "one team" culture. Provide strategic leadership to ensure manufacturing departments operate safely and in compliance with regulatory and internal health, safety, and environmental program standards and goals. Accountable for the development of execution strategies to ensure consistent and quality products while driving reliability-centered manufacturing operations. Participating in the business planning and budgeting process by developing short and long-term cost containment/reduction strategies. Execution of projects within assigned areas by monitoring project plans and status to ensure completion. Ensuring raw materials are converted into finished goods for the overall operation. Review the site performance for the previous day against agreed data and KPI Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for the designated product mix, developing a skilled and motivated workforce to support the achievement of objectives. Lead in embedding a performance-driven culture is nothing new to you as you look to measure Production, Delivery, Quality, Cost, Safety, and Employee Engagement Maximize productivity through achieving operational standard hours, booking operations, monitoring recoveries, investigating underperformance, and taking corrective action. Achieving operational excellence through a high-performance culture with a strong continuous improvement and lean manufacturing ethic. Leading the teams and taking them to an autonomous environment is key in this role, we need you to have the vision and direction for a future-oriented company. Optimization of factory performance and efficiency, ensuring that process flow, manufacturing methods, tooling fixtures, and equipment utilization are cost-competitive and sustainable. Ensures designated product mix is driven through the process to deliver 100% OTIF; utilizing resources such as maintenance, engineering, and quality as required. Proactively manage the workflow through the site/unit through the manufacturing Management Team Enhance team performance through development, performance management and recruitment. Salary Range: 160K to 185K
If you have any of these skills, we would love to hear from you; Undergraduate degree or equivalent in an engineering, metallurgical, operational, or commercial discipline or relevant experience Thorough knowledge of casting technology, processes, and manufacturing methods, based upon 5 years minimum experience in the engineering, manufacturing, and/or application of metal products in a senior management role. Business Management qualification Green belt, black belt, or other recognized lean manufacturing training Leadership in a business leads significant business growth. Ability to create, implement, and drive strategic plans. The ability to harness ERP and other data sets to make data-driven decisions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a range of audiences, including external, internal, seniors, and employees. Experience with world-class manufacturing processes, and methods, Lean, Kaizen, 6s, TMP (talent management program), and other advanced manufacturing methodologies, tools, and concepts. Strong leadership and motivation skills Strong computer skills with experience in Excel, ERP, and Minitab a plus Experience in managing manufacturing functions
