Description of Position
Yavapai County Learn and Earn Program Coordinator
This position is a Temporary Position that is expected to work 7 weeks at 40 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $30
The Yavapai County Learn and Earn Program Coordinator will oversee a summer youth education and employment program for teens. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for approximately seven youth over the course of six weeks during the summer, with the help of the program Mentor. Oversight of this program will be conducted by the Yavapai County Juvenile Probation Department, as well as the Yavapai College Campus Police Department and Staff.
The Program Coordinator will oversee learning opportunities and internships for each individual youth, write reports, drive a 12-passenger van, mentor and directly supervise youth, lead teaching and classroom instruction, communicate with probation and Yavapai College staff, record keeping including the submission of youth timesheets, and work with community representatives and leaders. The Program Coordinator will assist with planning and oversight of the program's parent orientation and graduation ceremony.
The Program Coordinator may oversee the Program Mentor position and will have the lead responsibilities in ensuring adherence to the policies and procedures of the Learn and Earn Program.
REQUIRED AVAILABILITY:
May 28 and 29: 8:00am-5:00pm May 30 and 31: 12:00pm-9:00pm June 3 to Jul 27: Position works 7:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Thursday **Program Break for the week of July 4th - Staff off** July 8 to July 18: Position works 7:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Thursday July 17: 6:00pm-8:00pm Program graduation scheduled for Cottonwood July 18: 6:00pm-8:00pm Program graduation scheduled for Prescott
Minimum Expectations & Requirements
Pre-employment background screening, fingerprinting and polygraph test Must possess a valid in-state driver's license and be able to pass a MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check Minimum of one-year experience working with youth. Clear written and verbal communication. Regular attendance is an essential job function as it demonstrates dependability towards performance of duties and consistency in the role with youth. High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Skills & Abilities
Prior teaching experience in a classroom setting. Experience working with teens. Associates or bachelor's degree
