Primary Responsibility :
The Vice President, Sales Sector (Business Development - Protein), will serve as the leader of the Protein Sector and work to develop strategies that enable organic and external growth objectives which align with the Americold Mission Statement.
Achievement of annual revenue, EBITDA and strategic projects assigned to their Sector / Book of Business is critical. Must demonstrate excellence regarding customer relationships, use of Salesforce, Commercial Business Rules, and Supply Chain Solutions project management. Required to possess superior communication skills and organizational agility. The role involves consistent interaction with the executive team, operations team and all levels of the organization. Must be ready to accept additional responsibility in the areas of M&A and Development as opportunities arise.
What You'll Do :
• Commercial expertise that supports revenue and EBITDA growth in their Sector / Book of Business. Fosters collaborative partnership to drive customer specific strategic vision and roadmap.
• Manage, develop and lead a team of Key Account Directors and Customer Care Managers.
• Business Development strategy developed and implemented for the Protein sector including programs for: i) account management, ii) customer profitability / pricing strategy, iii) new account acquisition
• Build solid business development pipeline for the sector to ensure: i) commercial continuity, ii) support client mix strategy, iii) progress reporting and iv) diversification of product/commodity mix.
• Leverage the Regional Business Development leaders to deliver results by cooperation, sharing, developing service opportunities.
• Support M&A activities (e.g. target due diligence customer analysis / market analysis (clients, competition) as required.
• Working with other departments and relevant country leadership in the development of Requests for Proposal (RFP) responses and related follow-up.
• Expands services provided to the existing customer base such as Transportation, Multi-vendor Consolidation (MVC), value added services, and international opportunities.
• Responsible for analysis and review of monthly revenue & KPI reports that include tracking of Account performance in relation to Company budget goals and objectives. Responsible for attainment of business objectives in alignment with sales incentive program.
What Experience and Education You Need :
• 15-20 years of business development experience in operational industries or business services in the areas of supply chain, warehousing, distribution, transportation, food/consumer package goods, etc.
• Strong industry experience with specific knowledge of manufacturers, processors, wholesalers, brokers, retailers, etc.
• Comfortable in a multi country and multi culture business environment.
• Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or marketing or equivalent training in business or sales management, Masters a plus.
• Proven ability in strategy development, program implementation, highly effective team building, mentoring, planning and budgeting.

• Protein sector relationships and experience.
• Cold storage or temperature controlled experience.
• Strong operational finance skills (rate development, operating statements, creative financial solutions).
• Demonstrated excellence in the areas of: time management; communications; decision-making, organization; human relations; presentations; negotiations; team and project management skills.
• Travel Estimated at 50%.

• Occasionally works evenings or weekends in order to complete objectives or to attend meetings.
• Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes.
• Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management.
