Technology Support Technician

Responsible to: Director of Technology
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Successful experience in use of computers, computer peripherals and related audio and visual equipment Experience in repair and troubleshooting on computers and other technology systems Demonstrated knowledge of standard operating systems and networking principals and cabling Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills Competent technological skills Essential Responsibilities: Installs Network Cable infrastructure including cable terminations, wall ports mounts, other physical infrastructure, etc Installs Audio/Visual cables and equipment as needed Installs various types of technology equipment Provides assistance to schools by connecting devices, verifying proper operation, and ensuring staff can operate computers and other instructional technologies (document cameras, projectors, presentation software, interactive technology boards, etc.) Provides technical support for software and hardware issues experienced by the end user Assists with the technology staff to implement appropriate computer configurations and assist in their deployment Maintains user inventory/surplus logs Assists in supporting technology equipment and network infrastructure Assists in the maintaining of software and hardware updates Assists in the purchase/return/warranty issues of technology equipment for the system Works with other departments to meet the goals of the system Carry out the duties of a Technology Director and Software Support Specialist Assists in the development, monitoring, and periodic evaluation of multiple year technology plans General Requirements: Follows Federal and State Laws and adopted policies and procedures in accordance with School Board priorities Conducts oneself in the best interest of students, in accordance with the highest standards of public education and in support of the District's Vision/Mission Statements Maintains ethical standards, which include professionalism and the protection of confidential student and staff information Other responsibilities and/or duties may be required and assigned 2009
