Responsibilities
• Maintain and improve existing codebases used by staff and users• Support integration efforts at the CNMS to enable autonomous experimental workflows• Develop and apply data analysis and/or machine learning workflows for users• Provide training and support for users and staff on aspects of data analysis and use of computational resources available at ORNL• Deliver ORNL's mission by aligning behaviors, priorities, and interactions with our core values• Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility by fostering a respectful workplace
Requirements
• Bachelor's in Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline with at least five years of experience; a Master's in the same areas with four years; or a PhD in the same areas• Experience in computer programming and software development• Experience with Git and Python• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and to participate creatively in collaborative teams• Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt to ever changing needs
