Systems Architect, Logistics & Warehouse Management Work Mode: Hybrid Location: Hybrid at Kohler, WI Opportunity The Kohler Information Technology (IT) organization is an enterprise staff function responsible for Information Technology across the global organization. IT is committed to delivering against Kohler Co.'s increasingly digital agenda by enabling strategic outcomes. Within the organization, there are multiple teams who work together to achieve business value - Business Partners, Infrastructure and Operations, Core Capabilities, Digital Capabilities, Enterprise Architecture and Cybersecurity. This position is part of the Core Capabilities organization and works with our business partners and cross-functionally within IT to deliver business value through project implementations. The Systems Architect will assist with design, implement, and maintain computer systems and programs to increase business effectiveness, solve problems and create new opportunities to assist in achievement of business goals. The Systems Architect - Logistics & Warehouse Management position requires strong system competency related to shipping, receiving, and warehousing. Systems Architects design, implement and maintain Kohler business best practices worldwide with a focus on shipping material to customers and other Kohler plants as well material storage in a warehouse environment. The ability to design and drive continuous improvement of systems and related business processes in Logistics is required. The candidate should have good English skills and at least 7 years of IT project experience. An ideal candidate must have deep knowledge of Logistics capabilities and system settings in areas such as inventory allocation, shipment load planning, warehouse management, physical inventory and cycle counting, receiving, transportation and carrier management, including domestic and international documentation and carrier payment processes. Deep experience with SAP delivery and shipment processing, warehouse management (WM), transportation and/or EWM is required. Exposure to IT processes within an organization utilizing an ERP solution is necessary. Previous hands-on system configuration and demonstrated solution design abilities are required. The role will involve working with Kohler Co. at a global level and across multiple time zones with a wide variety of key working relationships in areas such as USA, China, Europe, and India. Regional and global travel may be required up to 30%. Specific Responsibilities Build and implement software solutions through configuration, programming, and development.Lead solution design proposals and presentations, prepare system configurations and data, create program specifications, prepare test criteria, and perform unit testing.Perform systems setup and installation activities. Develop program specifications for SAP ECC and/or related systems.Develop system and program documentation and user procedures.Promote architectural consistency and reusability standards. Lead the development and delivery of new procedures, process documentation, and user training. Provide spirited, positive leadership on systems projects. Challenge obsolete practices and question accepted truths. Develop practical systems scope that enhances the business function. Control the project scope, resources, and quality within budget and schedule to meet objectives. Provide analysis, counsel, and direction to management and key stakeholders.Work extensively with business champions, end users, superusers, vendors, and software providers. Ensure efficient operation of existing systems and programs. Maintain an understanding of business processes and the implications of technology solutions on these processes. Assist, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the efforts of IT users and vendors assigned to systems projects. Prepare inputs for project review meetings and management presentations including general design reviews, project schedules, test plans, system controls, procedures, documentation, and system implementation planning. Define and coach systems development standards, procedures, guidelines, priorities, and schedules. Possess a personal competence in standard software development methods, programming languages, and software development and testing tools. Research systems and programs to determine causes of failure or poor operational performance; then define, test, and implement detailed solutions to improve or correct. Participate in educational programs and professional societies involving analysis skills and computing technology. Skills/Requirements This position requires 7 years of system implementation experience in SAP IM/WM Logistics A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field is required. Experience with EWM is desirable The ability to read, write and speak English is required Above average knowledge of WMS integration with other systems (ERP, MES, etc) and warehouse equipment #LI-Hybrid #LI-SC2 We will consider applicants requiring sponsorship for this opportunity. The salary range for this position is $107,650 - $137,150. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
