The Systems Administrator possesses a broad understanding of hardware and software technology and its application in a financial services environment. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining Cinfed's information systems infrastructure, designing and supporting the VMWare environment, critical applications, and network communications. Identifying and implementing current and new technology solutions as it relates to clients strategic plan. In addition, the System Administrator will perform regular system and security monitoring and be responsible for backup procedures, patches, and upgrades. The position will participate in an after-hours support rotation, which includes weekends and holidays.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage, support, and maintain IT infrastructure including, but not limited to:
Environments: Production/Disaster Recovery/Cloud
Hardware: Virtual and physical servers, PCs, laptops, peripherals, phones, Sophos/SonicWall firewalls, Cisco routers/switches
Software: Microsoft, Office365, Citrix, VPN, Sophos Endpoint, VEEAM and financial services Core system
Maintains current knowledge of the various technologies utilized by the credit union. Keeping current on all industry-specific emerging technology trends.
Monitors, plans, and coordinates the distribution of software/firmware updates and service packs to ensure all systems stay up to date and secure.
Daily use of network monitoring and vulnerability/penetration scanning tools to maintain a proper security posture (internally and externally).
Reviews security reports from various systems and makes recommendations to management based on findings.
Maintains an inventory of all hardware, software, and licensing records.
Responds to inquiries from staff, outside vendors, and third-party consultants to provide technical assistance and support.
Use of helpdesk ticketing system to centrally prioritize and schedule technical requests/tasks/projects. Keeping service tickets current and meeting Cinfed's service level agreements.
Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
Develops, maintains, and supports the management of the company's Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures.
Identifies project timelines effectively and completes them within that timeline.
Screens, evaluates, and identifies system design and security related risks for IT infrastructure changes.
Document and record all system/hardware change management, as well as implementing changes in test environments for quality assurance.
Develops and documents system and network designs containing key infrastructure components and network flows to support business continuity and to improve consistency in new deployments.
Makes recommendations for workflow improvements and ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, documenting as appropriate.
Works with direct supervisor in establishing specific goals for the department; implements strategies to achieve these goals.
Works independently on special IT projects as assigned by supervisor.
Assists IT management team with various administrative duties as requested.
Mentoring coworkers as needed.
Compiles compliance information for examiners/auditors.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Education & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
A minimum of five (5) years' experience in Systems Administrator, Windows Engineer and/or MCSE roles (supporting Active Directory forests (DNS, DHCP, Group Policies).
A minimum of five (5) years' experience working with virtualized servers using VMWare.
Experience with Veeam Backup Software, Microsoft 365 Administration, Citrix XenApp, Cisco networking and Zerto preferred.
Experience with Jack Henry (Symitar) a plus.
