Together, we're creating a Universe of fun, always ensuring the next thing we do is better than the last thing we did.JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for Resort wide destination design and management for site planning and area development of new, existing, and international and domestic projects.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages land use planning and area development/site specific designs for Resort Wide international and/or domestic projects, accomplished with in-house support of the project team or various consultants. Configures layout components for Park Wide sites of new Theme Parks, attractions, and/or Hotels. Manages the lay out with specific and detailed design phases of lands/building massing, water conveyance and retention, parking, open space, access/egress points, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, landscape areas, etc. into a comprehensive site plan or series of site plans, and illustrations that set the thematic environment. Manages phases of schematic design through construction documents including the bidding process by coordinating with the design team, operations, consultants and project management staff. Screens and selects a contractor to support the field after the bidding process is negotiated through the general contractor or director to the owner for the area development scope. Performs presentations and interfaces with the creative team/project management staff during and at the completion of each phase to validate design intent and cost targets.Performs planning/site development design and management for new attraction, hotel and resort-wide land uses. Researches and diagrams regional aspects for a new projects, such as: water constraints both on and around the site, metro availability, vehicular access requirements, guest demands based upon individual resort component capacities,, parking requirements, utility requirements and routing, noise constraints, setback requirements, and adjacent land use constraints. Works with the Project Director, where applicable, to determine the availability of plant material and the need for a procurement strategy and tree farm/nursery program etc. Presents design information to senior management and other team members.Directs consultants during design phases from preliminary/master planning through project administration.Interfaces with joint venture partnerships, operations for the parks/attractions/hotels, governmental agencies for the common goal of project intent.Works within the team structure to establish and maintain common cost/schedule goals.Interfaces with UPR domestic and/or International staff for on-going quality control of existing projects.Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. Performs other duties as assigned.ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Potential indirect and/or direct supervision of Managers of environmental design, depending on the project. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.SCOPE:Influences decisions of major nature. High degree of tact & diplomacy to obtain favorable.EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture or Urban planning required.
