This is a remote position.
The Job: You will be responsible for training new field inspectors, reviewing reports, and assisting with field inspections as well as developing advanced training materials for the team. You will also meet with junior engineers to assist with complex or large loss inspections, and structural damage investigations and mentor them in proper assessment and report creation.


We provide a pickup truck, ladders, and all tools and equipment. 


You will perform and assist with field inspections of commercial, residential and municipal buildings (interior and exterior) including climbing on steep and high roofs. We provide training and safety equipment, but you cannot be afraid of heights!). For the senior forensic engineer, we expect that you are experienced with proper safety equipment use and will be able to train others in proper safety. You will document your findings with labeled photos, field notes, sketches, and written reports, using company provided software and training and you will learn to train others in our systems

What Background You Need: You must have your PE license or be eligible for licensing within 1 month of hire. 4+ years forensic engineering experience. No other experience is needed. Our in-depth training will take you from zero experience to being an industry expert in forensic engineering, storm damage assessment, construction materials, installation methods and other damage types, regardless of your specific engineering background. 


Potential For Increased Starting Salary :


Increased starting salaries are available for candidates with a structural background, or experience in roofing, construction, code verifications, structural damage assessments, flood or water loss evaluations, settlement or geotechnical failures, or root-cause analyses.
Experienced candidates are eligible for higher starting salaries and earlier entry to the bonus incentive program. Requirements Must have a PE license from your resident state or be able to obtain PE license within one month of hire date This job is physically demanding ; you must be able to lift, carry, position, climb up and down an extension ladder up to 36-ft, and walk on sloped roofing surfaces (safety equipment and training provided)
Need to have excellent computer skills (no coding experience necessary)
Must have a valid driver's license and clean/safe driving record
Must enjoy a flexible schedule - office will set appointments on inspection days and provide report days for working from home
Must be comfortable with heights This position involves inspecting roofing and other elevated and sloped structures. We will train you to  use the right safety equipment to keep you safe. We provide all necessary safety training and equipment. Climbing on steep and high residential roofs is a large portion of this job.  Benefits Starting salary $110,000 to $180,000
