We are currently seeking a Senior Accounting Analyst for a client partner based in Raleigh, NC. This position offers a fully remote, 6+ month contract opportunity and entails providing analytical and technical expertise to support the payroll function of the Bank. You'll be pivotal in resolving complex issues affecting payroll processing and contributing to the ongoing maintenance of Human Resources systems. Additionally, you'll play a key role in HR and Bank initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, providing guidance and leadership to your work group, and serving as a valuable resource on payroll matters for broader business units.
Key Responsibilities:
Process manual pay adjustments, deductions, and earnings changes, alongside updating associate hours in the time and attendance system, while assisting with annual deliverables.
Conduct analysis, including sourcing, compiling, coding, and interpreting data, ensuring accurate tax reporting, and streamlining analysis processes for your work group through imports and exports.
Manage company reorganization in the Human Resource Management System (HRMS), collaborating with managers and business partners to establish new organizational levels.
Participate in the ongoing maintenance of the HRMS, including time and attendance, and develop testing plans for software upgrades and custom modules impacting payroll processes.
Act as a consultative payroll partner to HR and Bank projects and provide support during mergers and acquisition activities.
Process third-party disability pay and provide guidance to less experienced analysts on the financial and accounting treatment of complex transactions.
Support benefit administration financial management and maintain the Payroll Operations Manual.
Stay informed of requirements related to payroll, tax, labor laws, and other applicable regulations, handling escalated payroll inquiries.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Payroll and Analytics OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Payroll and Analytics.
Knowledge of pay, employee, and tax-related regulations, with experience processing multi-state payroll over 10,000.
Familiarity with web-based Human Resources information systems, including time and attendance, as well as experience with UltiPro, Cognos, Business Intelligence, and PeopleSoft GL.
Strong analytical and computer skills, particularly in MS Office, coupled with a detail-oriented approach.
Preferred certifications: Fundamental Payroll certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).

Office Hours: Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm
