Room Service Attendant

Job summary
The Room Service Attendant (RSA) provides exceptional quality and service to patients on the assigned inpatient floor.The RSA is responsible for delivering meals, snacks, and beverages, and ensuring all service interactions meet UCSD Health System standards.This is a part-time appointment with the possibility of flexing up to full time.

Responsibilities
• Obtaining and honoring patient food selections and preferences• Delivering meals, snacks, and beverages in a timely fashion• Accurately following patient identification procedures and diet orders• Utilizing food service ordering software and technology• Managing time efficiently and responding promptly to patient requests• Handling concerns related to meal service and providing service recovery• Meeting and exceeding patient and Health System expectations• Adhering to departmental policies and procedures• Upholding Health System core values and CARING standards• Performing other related duties as assigned
Requirements
• Two (2) years of professional experience in food or hospitality service• Knowledge and abilities essential to the position• Ability to deliver quality meal service on time and in accordance with standards• Fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking)• Professional attitude and attention to detail• Maintaining confidentiality and remaining calm in stressful situations
