The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD ("The HARRIS CENTER") is looking for a Revenue Representative Appeals to join our team. Under the general direction of the Appeals and Collections Manager, the Appeals and Collections Representative assists the department in reimbursement maximization via collections with payors and consumers to ensure payment is received in order to meet collections targets. Assist the department in reimbursement maximization in processing denials from payors to meet collection targets.
What you will do: Process reports of outstanding balances and denials from all from 3rd Party Payers. Analyze Explanation of Benefits to determine is an appeal should be made and by what method. Complete the appeal and collection and/or follows necessary steps to ensure balance is paid or adjusted to zero as appropriate. Manage outstanding Accounts Receivable from 3rd party payer as necessary to ensure payments. Process reports of outstanding balances . Place call to payer to inquire on status of claim. Follows necessary steps ensure balance is paid or adjusted to zero as appropriate. Maintains tracking notes in the denial database. Reviews status on previous appealed or pended claims to ensure that a previously appealed or pended claim has been resolved within the established timeframe. Researches all notifications of Payment Recoupments. Identifies appeals problems or areas of concern. What qualifications you will need: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma. Must have one year of reimbursement experience. Must be proficient with ICD-9, CPT coding and computer database program. Must be computer literate, have knowledge of excel, proficient with 10 key use software effectively. The person must have well-developed interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills and be a team player with a desire to provide a high level of customer service; possess strong verbal and written communication skills and interact effectively at all levels within the organization. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Should have excellent written, verbal and communication. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of all work-related matters and ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of the agency.
