Under direct supervision, performs routine patient care activities to support physical or occupational therapy and speech language pathologyAssists with ambulation, transfer, bed mobility training, and routine exercise programsHelps with wound care, activities of daily living, and communicates with therapists regarding patient care

Responsibilities
• Assisting therapists with routine procedures• Helping patients with ambulation, transfers, and exercise programs• Applying splints, braces, heat, cold, and therapy modalities• Assisting patients with wound care and activities of daily living• Communicating with therapists regarding patient care• Cleaning and maintaining a safe and orderly treatment area• Performing various cleaning duties and maintaining equipment and supplies• Stocking treatment area with supplies and equipment• Assisting with answering phones, relaying messages, and performing clerical duties• Delivering and picking up various items as directed
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED• Minimum of six months general work experience preferred• Experience in a healthcare environment preferred• Ability to learn and apply CPR• Ability to read, write, and speak English• Ability to learn and practice safe work procedures and positive guest relations skills• Ability to work with patients with infectious diseases• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
