The Quality Engineer has the role of deploying and facilitating the quality culture in Motion NEMA Motors, ensuring and controlling quality to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations and representing the customer's voice within local teams, providing customer experience feedback and input. In this role, you will be responsible for assuring and controlling quality with systems, tools and teams to exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Also, supporting and maintaining the Quality Management System of the local unit. All aspects managed in line with ABB Group/Division/BU(Business Unit) guidance.
This position reports to Engineeing Manager
Your responsibilities Represents the Voice of the Customer within local teams Manages the customer quality issues, perform root cause analysis and lead the implementation of the corrective actions to solve the customer quality issues Manages internal quality systems (receiving inspection, scrap analysis, gage control, etc.) for assigned department Manages the overall quality system and ensure retention of our ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certification Sets and leads the quality strategy for the facility Your background Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology with minimum 2 years of relevant experience Experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing facility ISO experience Previous experience in customer support, service or client facing roles and previous knowledge or experience with electrical testing procedures The ideal candidate should have at least a basic knowledge of the following principles and should be able to elaborate the concepts: lean manufacturing, 5S, 8D reports and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) Data analysis/trending experience such as Minitab Ability to work in team and great communication skills and diplomacy to deal with our customers Strong quality systems/process experience and ability to work individually or within a team or large groups as required Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US Benefits Retirement plan Life insurance Disability insurance Wellbeing program Healthcare plan More about us ABB's NEMA Motors Division markets, designs and manufactures the market-leading Baldor-Reliance® brand of industrial motors.
