Job Description This position is responsible for the overall plant materials management. Key elements include planning, integration, and execution of the production schedule, inventory control, purchasing, warehousing, distribution, and customer service.
The Plant Materials Manager should have experience: Leading warehouse practices, including ABC inventory storage methodology and other lean concepts, while ensuring segregation of different material types. Using external warehousing and taking a strategic approach to what products are stored in these facilities. Managing others and executing on training plans. The Plant Materials Manager will: Support inventory tracking (SAP), monitor inventory levels vs. shipments, and monitor storeroom usage. Oversee budgeting and forecasting. Monitor all plant inventories and purchasing related functions while utilizing a structured cycle count process. Direct the plant production schedule through communication with divisional production planning. Supervise plant warehousing operations including transportation and distribution. Execute MRP and generate materials releases to suppliers. Ensure that post goods issues and stock transfer orders are completed within the same business day. Perform AQS responsibilities in accordance with AQS manual. Serve as primary plant contact for customer inquiries regarding production schedule, inventory, transportation, orders, and releases. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred (purchasing, supply chain, or other related field) or equivalent experience 5-7 years of experience as a materials professional in a manufacturing environment Previous supervisory experience is preferred Background with SAP and Excel is preferred Additional Information Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $100,000 and includes a possible 12% quarterly incentive bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
