Applications are invited for a faculty appointment within the Department of Mechanical & Materials Engineering at Western University effective September 1, 2024 , or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful applicant will receive a three-year Limited Term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary will be commensurate with the successful applicant's qualifications and experience.
The Department is seeking an energetic and dynamic candidate who will be able to contribute to and complement the Department's teaching activities in the broad area of mechanical and/or materials engineering including Introductory and Advanced Design, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Manufacturing, Computational Methods, and fundamental and applied mechanical and/or materials courses.
Applicants for this position must have a first degree (BASc. B.Eng or equivalent) in Mechanical or Materials Engineering and a PhD degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to teach core and elective undergraduate courses in the B.E.Sc. program, and introductory graduate courses in the professional Master's (M.Eng.) program. The appointee will be expected to participate in the normal administrative, educational, and professional activities of the Department, Faculty and University. Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario is required for this appointment. Preference will be given to those with engineering experience.
