This position is directed to individuals interested in performing fact gathering, legal research and analysis of issues encountered by a medical device company. Ideal candidates will be passionate about helping businesses in developing life-saving medical devices and services for at-risk patients. The Legal Intern will be assigned to a functional Team Manager and an internship mentor, but work assignments may require direct collaboration with other team members of the Legal Department. Work performed will be hands on, may contribute to a project as a whole, but does not directly impact the outcome.
At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will have a clear understanding of how their studies directly contribute to their course of study and/or the medical device industry.
This is a part-time summer internship position, working with the Legal Department at Kestra.
Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Assignments: Fact gathering, legal research, and analysis on issues related to ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance), regulatory compliance, licensure for governmental medical benefits (payors), and intellectual property. Collaborate with team members of the Legal Department on assignments that are to be completed by the end of the Internship to get a good understanding of the scope, goals, and deliverables for each assignment. The assignments may be directed to tasks that support a Team Member in on-going projects Performing Assignments: Use creativity and initiative to perform assignments and provide periodic updates on progress of assignments. Cite the sources of information used in performing assignments Project Presentation: At internship end, present results, learnings, and recommendations to the Legal team and Kestra Executive Leadership COMPETENCIES:

Education/Experience Required:
Current enrollment in an undergraduate, graduate or law school degree program at an accredited university,college or law school Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor open office environment Minimal noise volume typical to an office environment

Extended/overtime hours when needed

Drug-free INTERNSHIP ELIGIBILITY:
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter(spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/universitywithin the past 6 months Must not have completed one year of continual employment with Kestra Medical Technologies

Must be at least 18 years of age

Must possess unrestricted work authorization

Must provide own transportation to/from work

Must successful complete and pass a criminal and employment background screening that meets the allowable FDA requirements and is in accordance with EEOC rules and regulations

Must successfully pass a pre-internship drug screen PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequent repetitive motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers, such as keyboard and mouseusage Frequent stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time

Frequent computers use

Frequent phone and other business machine use

Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds TRAVEL:
Occasional travel, domestic and international, may be required, less than 10% OTHER DUTIES:

PROGRAM LENGTH:

Benefits Pay: $22.50/hour
