Quality Staffing, Inc., also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search, a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the area's top companies, is looking for an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal working with the Tennessee Department of Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities located in Knoxville, TN. This is an on-site 1st shift position working 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday through Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week. The pay rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities: Paralegal for attorney or law firm that handles litigation.
Drafting legal pleadings using templates or copying example pleadings.
Filling documents with courts and interacting with court clerk offices.
Making/sending service copies by certified mail, making arrangements with process server when needed.
Scheduling court reporters for court hearings and trials.
Helping prepare trial exhibits and witness list.
Organizing and maintaining legal files, both hard copy and electronic.
Proficiency with building, updating, and maintaining spreadsheets, and working efficiently in multiple databases.
Timely management of casework, including proper documentation and case resolution.
Research/review/gather information for cases and documents findings accurately.
Outreach to internal/external customers for case information and always remain professional.
Use Excel to track action and status updates on cases.
Complete miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervising attorney.

Ideal applicants should meet the below requirements: Some college experience, preferably graduate of a Paralegal program.
Ability to send clear, concise emails and respond in a timely manner.
Be flexible and adaptable to changing work demands/tasks.
Organization and diligent attention to detail is required.
Excellent time management skills.
Excellent notetaking and email organization & distribution skills.
Timely and efficiently process, index, and file documents.
Attend staff meetings and participate in discussions.
Maintain confidentiality and security of documents.
Self-motivated and able to stay on task while working independently.
