Our client, a reputable law firm in Santa Fe, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will provide crucial support to attorneys and legal professionals in the litigation department. While prior experience in litigation is preferred, it is not required. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and advancement in the legal field.
Responsibilities for the Legal Assistant:: Administrative Support: Assist your attorney with day-to-day administrative tasks, including but not limited to filing, scanning, photocopying, and managing correspondence.
Document Preparation: Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
Calendar Management: Maintain attorney calendars, schedule meetings, court appearances, and deadlines.
Case Management: Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
Research: Conduct legal research using online databases and resources to support attorneys in case preparation.
Court Filings: Assist with the preparation and filing of court documents, including e-filings, in compliance with court rules and deadlines.
Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the legal team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Qualifications for the Legal Assistant: 3+ years experience working in legal is a must! Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software. Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professional demeanor and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
