Job Description SummaryThe Plant Industrial Engineer is part of the Plant Lean Operations Group. This person is tasked with the analytics and industrialization management at the plant level, as well as managing the plant's capacity mapping, layout development, automation roadmap and OEE management.A successful candidate will be able to manage the site requirements, interface with multiple central teams including industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, and lean, and to deliver to an industrial timeline and budget targets as well as analyze data that is utilized in understanding the site bowler metrics.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesDevelop competency in wide range ofIndustrial Engineering Methodsand Lean tools, and coaches associates in the use and implementation of Lean principles.Work onPlant Analyticssuch as OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), DLP (Direct Labor Productivity), Machine Capacity and Mapping, and analyze other plant data as needed. Improves workflowby studying process flow charts, recommending modifications in workflow and workstations, and developing new procedures.Develop and manage theindustrial project timeline, and ensure the tasks are accomplished timely.Partner with the Lean Specialists in development of theplant's transformation roadmap, based on site's future state VSM and layout planning.In conjunction with the Lean Specialists create alean layoutwith operators that delivers safe, quality part flow realizing least lead time from order to cash.Experienced in operatorline balance / time studiescreating true industrial labor standards to achieve customer takt time.Able to design optimal material flow part family combinations across the site throughPQPR (part quantity part route) analysis.Interface with the manufacturing engineering team and participate in the plant'stechnological roadmap, including the automation projects.Material storage strategymaximizing use of space while designing an efficient pick and delivery of material between processes.Packaging designthat provides least waste across the extended supply chain for operator, material handlers, and logistics.UseLean Process Improvement methodologies, expertise, and judgmentto creatively address complicated and/or interdependent processes, develop execution plans and communicate benefits/risk.Utilizeproblem solving methodologiesto find new solutions to difficult technical challenges that impact both yield and cost.Required Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Industrial Engineering ) + Minimum of 3 years of project management experience.Desired Characteristics and ExperienceMaster's Degree in Industrial Engineering is desired.Ability to accurately analyze key business metrics and situations from a leader perspective and leverage lean to drive improvement.Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes.Models the GE Behaviors (Humility, Transparency, Focus): this is mission-critical for all GE leaders as an enabler for continuous improvement.Results orientation – must deliver sustainable results.Able to influence others – must be able to inform, convince, and persuade other using lean to drive sustainable results.
