Micron has an outstanding opportunity for a high energy, tenacious, ambitious, result driven individual with a strong work ethic and integrity to join our Facilities Team in Boise, Idaho.Job Summary and Description:Micron is looking for experienced mechanical engineers to be part of the design, construction, commissioning, and sustaining operations for our new innovative high volume manufacturing Fab and existing technology development fab in Boise, ID. The Facilities Mechanical Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for working in a team environment, with parallel subject areas, to analyze operational efficiency activities, identify cost effective sustaining and manufacturing improvements and provide design input on projects. Will be the authority and system owner on a variety of systems including typical Semiconductor Facilities Mechanical systems such as air compressors, boilers, chillers, pumping systems, and general HVAC. This position works directly with the operations team and technicians monitoring systems parameters via intelligent systems such as SPC/IOT and SCADA, ensuring they are running within specifications. This posting requires a hard work ethic and diligent attention to detail. The Facilities Mechanical Engineer must have the pertinent people skills that enable the coordination with other system owners, maintenance crews and construction trades to drive projects and daily tasks.Engineering support and oversite of Design, Construction, Commissioning of Mechanical systems including:Review of vendor provided design drawings and specifications for completeness and accuracyReview of equipment configuration and distribution routing of systems relative to functionality, egress, ease of maintenance requirements, constructability, alignment with P&ID's, etc.Validation of engineering calculationsReview and approval of equipment and component submittals in coordination with O&M staffReview and validation of construction RFI responsesReview and approval of shop drawings and construction modelsField engineering QA during constructionCommissioning supportEntry of system information into a capacity planning softwareQualifications:Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skillsProven ability to communicate complex analysis in a succinct and actionable mannerProven ability to plan, drive and complete projects effectivelyProven skills in working effectively with team members from different subject areasDemonstrated ability to organize and efficiently facilitate meetings and project teamsDemonstrated critical thinking skillsDemonstrated strong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to be diligent, follow complex procedures, and work with minimal supervisionDemonstrated ability to identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve overall efficiencyDemonstrated analytical problem-solving skills with ability to solve complex problems and address root causesStrong partnering, negotiation, and team-working skills with team members from different subject areasProven ability to communicate and present technical information effectively to all audiencesStrong understanding of data extraction, data analysis and reporting methodologiesDemonstrated knowledge of utility metrics, utility costs, etc.Demonstrated knowledge of safety codes and lawsProven ability to reduce costs associated with a process or areaEducation and Experience:Required: Minimum – Degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent experienceRequired: Three or more years of relative experiencePreferred: Master's degree or equivalent experience in engineering and/or your subject area specific Professional Engineer certificationPreferred: Three or more years of Facilities/Plant Operations experience in semiconductor manufacturingAs a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
