About the Position

We are seeking Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officers to join our growing EHS team. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ continuous years of fuel and fuels construction, maintenance, and repair related experience. The successful candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. This candidate will be mentored by our dynamic team of senior EHS professionals while supporting and leading a range of multidisciplinary projects.

About Our Team

Our Corporate EHS Team is engaged in projects throughout the world supporting our existing client base . We include providing EHS services to various sectors to include construction management, fueling systems recurring maintenance and minor repairs, transportation, Energy, renewable fuels, government (local, state, and federal), Department of Defense, private development, higher education, and water resources and restoration. The successful candidate would be an integral part of our growing EHS team and would have the opportunity to provide EHS-related services across multiple markets and geographies.

Knowledge and Experience:
Coordinate the day-to-day field project implementation of the corporate EHS programs, supported by the Corporate EHS VP, Program Safety and Health Manager, and Project Manager
Assist in the preparation and review of site-specific Accident Prevention Plans, Health and Safety Plans, and any required supporting competent and qualified person required designation and planning.
Track required EHS one time, initial, and refresher training.
Manage occupational medical examinations to include client required drug and alcohol testing and international travel with input from the operations manager and the Corporate VPEHS VP.
Identify a local medical facility to provide both emergency and non-emergency services.
Develop and implement the project specific emergency action plan and associated contingency plans.
Stop work activities that represent an imminent hazard to employees. Identify and implement corrective actions to prevent all injuries, illnesses, property damage, and near incidents.
Assist in the preparation of project specific injury reporting, investigation, and corrective actions.
Ensure the security and maintenance of project employee(s) EHS files.
Ensure that the OSHA 300A summary log(s) are posted in a central location and are accessible to all employees from at least February 01 to April 30, annually.
Ensure that project specific EHS inspections are completed, documented and the required corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Coordinate with the project manager, site superintendent and Corporate EHS VP to ensure that the project specific new employee orientation, training, and buddy program is properly implemented and documented.
Ensure that the required federal, state, and local EHS posters are displayed in a central location of the field project and are accessible to all employees.
Develop and post in a central location of the project specific evacuation routes, emergency phone numbers, and current 1st aid, CPR, and bloodborne (BBP) providers.
Implement the project specific Hazard Communication Program (HAZCOM), as appropriate.
Inspect and maintain current supplies in the office first aid kit.
Updates and maintains body of knowledge related to training, degree, or job responsibilities.
Completes assigned work on time and within budget.
Adheres to and enforces company policies and procedures.
Completes tasks assigned by Pond's corporate EHS VP.

Qualifications:
BS Degree and related credentials or related experience and training , or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of continual experience, with fueling systems preferred
Current EHS training requires 30-hour OSHA training, First Aid , CPR and BBP training. Qualified and competent person training is a benefit. .
Proficient with relevant software such as Microsoft Suite and Internet Explorer required.
Extensive Travel to domestic and foreign locations will be expected.(50% Travel ) Employee must be able to successfully complete a criminal background check, MVR check, pass a drug & alcohol screen, and travel freely on a passport or other official document.
Physical Demand to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, sit, and walk, climb, crawl, must have close and color vision, use depth and peripheral vision and be able to focus.
Prefer a long-term relationship with the qualified EHS candidate(s) who are loyal and dependable.
This position will be responsible for managing/mentoring junior level field safety officers and subcontractors located on projects.
Ability to work well within a team environment, positive attitude, multi-task, and self-motivated to produce high quality deliverables.

Additional Information

Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Health Site & Safety Manager with a salary range of $86,000.00 - $133,900.00 .
