Job summary
Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures.Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations.Coordinates with the Outreach Supervisor, SPOC and EPR to expedite vaccine screening, testing and administration in vulnerable/underserved populations.

Responsibilities
• Cares for population with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.• Provides education and counseling on practices to facilities and individuals.• Provides a wide array of immunization activities, wellness checks, testing, coordination of events that requires travel as needed.• Identifies high risk populations and tailor interventions based on the needs of the population and the resources available.• Screens and refers clients to other community service providers.
Requirements
• External candidates: will be hired as a RN 1 OR RN 2; based on education and/or experience• Internal candidates: are eligible for a lateral transfer as an RN 2 or RN 3; must be currently working in the same job code• RN 1 Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND completion of a PHN course within one year AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification. Note: No experience required.• RN 2 Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of PHN experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.• RN 3 Minimum Qualifications- Internal Only: Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of nursing experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Two years of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
Key Skills Needed
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.• Some public health and infectious disease experience helpful.• Ability to speak Spanish preferred but not required.
