Summary of Job Duties:
The Director of Study Abroad and International Exchange reports to the Associate Dean for International Education within the Graduate School and International Education. The Director of Study Abroad and International Exchange supports the academic, research, and outreach missions and strategic initiatives of the University to increase student participation in study abroad opportunities. This position facilitates campus-wide collaboration with faculty, administrators, academic units, and administrative offices to respond to global initiatives; build, maintain, and evaluate programming; and deliver best practices in global education. This position leads fiscal and risk management for students, staff, and faculty international travel with the goal of sustaining and growing quality international experiences .


Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
At least five years of management and leadership experience in international education
At least three years of experience in fiscal management and risk management procedures

Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience with best practices in education abroad curriculum design, assessment, and integration with academic programs of study
Demonstrated experience overseeing a variety of exchange, faculty-led, and third party provider programs
Demonstrated experience supervising and evaluating staff
Demonstrated experience with comprehensive data management

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Organizational, interpersonal communication, and public speaking skills
Ability to use international education technologies, including Microsoft Office and Terra Dotta
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an international leadership team
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Ability to interact effectively with a broad range of constituencies and stakeholders
Ability to develop emergency protocols that are in alignment with the University's risk management and safety plan

Additional Information:

Salary Information:
$75,000 - $86,000 Commensurate with education and experience.
