The Director of Front Office reports to the General Manager and is responsible for the daily operation of the front office. You will be supervising all front office personnel, tasks, and duties, including planning, directing, and coordinating front office activities to ensure exceptional guest service. You will also be held accountable for coordination of hotel operations with the Director of Housekeeping and the Director of Engineering.
Tasks/Duties: Supervises the preparation of scheduling for Front Office Department. Approves payroll for Front Office Department. Evaluates the job performance of each front office employee. Maintains working relationships and communicates with all departments. Works closely with Engineering and Housekeeping to ensure the hotel runs smoothly Maintains master key control Coordinates with housekeeping to ensure accurate room status information is maintained and communicated. Immediately resolves guest problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously. Checks cashiers in and out and verifies banks and deposits at the end of each shift. Enforces all cash-handling, check-cashing, and credit policies. Manage and respond to surveys and OTA reviews in a timely manner Other duties as assigned by management or ownership Conducts regularly scheduled meetings of front office personnel. Maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily. Monitor selling status of house daily with Revenue Department. Communicating effectively to staff ensuring that all company policies and procedures are followed. Ensure that employees are, at all times, attentive, friendly, helpful and gracious to all guests, managers and other employees. Monitor all VIP's special guests and requests. Oversee the implementation of procedures, policies, systems, payroll and inventory management. Work with the HR Department for recruitment and selection of personnel. Must be a leader to all team members. Job Requirements Enthusiastic, highly motivated and guest driven; punctual & dedicated. Excellent interpersonal and communication experience, both verbal & written Flexible and able to work various shifts, ability to work in high pressure situations. Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English. Education & Knowledge: A combination of education and/or experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance, for example, 3-5 years' experience in a Manager or Assistant Director role. Must have background in Hospitality and Customer service and experience with Hotel Management systems and housekeeping.
