About the Role: J ob Title: Data Scientist
Day to Day: Ascendion is looking for a Senior Data Scientist I for the Commercial Insurance's team migration from on-prem servers to Azure. The bulk of the day to day will include translating code from SAS to Python, converting data processing and modelling scripts to run on the cloud, and migrating an R-Shiny dashboard to the cloud. Documenting all conversion processes will be crucial for this role. Must Haves: 3+ years of experience demonstrated experience in data manipulation and various AI methodologies, preferably in applications using credit data for insurance or financial services. SAS to Python and cloud migration work in a recent project. Coding in Python R-Shiny dashboard that needs to be migrated Have to be fluent in SAS and Python - translating SAS to Python Proficiency in R Experience with R and Python's standard data manipulation packages. Experience manipulating and merging multiple large data sets in a distributed computing environment. Interacting with scripts, pulling data from the data lake, and managing server configurations within the Azure cloud environment Documentation Experience: Thoroughly document code, utilize version control (Git) and track code/data migrations to the cloud Location: Remote
Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $100,000 – $105,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skill, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
