Job Title: QC Lab Technician Kelly Science has immediate needs for multiple QC Lab Technician in Sarasota FL with one of our growing clients focusing on animal health products. This is a temp to hire role with great opportunity for advancement. Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, some weekend coverage as needed(1-2hours a month) earlier start time is fine as well (30 hours a week offered) flexible Salary: $24/hour JOB DUTIES Perform laboratory tests according to appropriate procedures, work instructions, &/or Internal Manufacturing Specifications.
Monitor CGMP requirements as related to the analysis & production of fermented organisms. Utilize the laboratory data systems to maintain records necessary to support analytical results.
General microbial laboratory work and upkeep, including plating, streaking, & counting. Various non-microbial laboratory duties will also be required.
Organizing, cleaning and maintenance of workspaces.
Environmental & quality sampling/testing. Maintain samples, records, & files as outlined in procedures. Provide timely & accurate documentation of all analytical data.
Perform Laboratory tests following the QC Laboratory Standard Operating Procedures Manual. Monitor's laboratory & test equipment for calibration & general working condition of equipment.
Maintain & follow regulatory agency requirements & safety programs as trained by the Quality Manager. Report any safety infraction & take the appropriate action in accordance with the Safety Manual. Follow good housekeeping practices for laboratory safety.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries.
Inventory and report expendable supplies/materials needed for testing requirements.
Grow inoculums and aseptically transfer them to other vessels.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and traceability.
Communicates upstream and downstream effectively with all levels of employees.
EDUCATION B.S. in microbiology, food science, , biology, chemistry or a related field is preferred, will accept experience over a degree.
Mathematical Skills: The person should be able to work simple mathematical problems and to work with fractions, decimals, and Standard and Metric systems.
Science skills: The person should have a good understanding of basic science – biology, chemistry, microbiology.
