Job Summary Conveyor Mechanic is responsible for conducting machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance of the local shipping system and warehouse equipment. Provides 24-hour on-call as needed for the shipping systems to ensure sustainability.
Job Description Provide operational support and perform emergency/unscheduled repairs during production as well as scheduled preventative maintenance for warehouse conveyor system Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs. Maintains time and production records. Reads and interprets equipment manuals, work orders, manufacturer's instructions, diagrams, and sketches to perform required maintenance and service; troubleshoot malfunctions. Works with Facility & Maintenance Manager to resolve work problems, assist workers in solving work problems. Provides information, data, and recommendations regarding conveyor operations to anticipate, if not eliminate, potential for problems On-call and available to respond to all breakdowns or problems that interrupt conveyor system operation Determines necessary repairs require outside mechanical personnel May assist in maintaining and assuring the safe operation of MHE used in the warehouse Additional Job responsibilities stem from a variety of disciplines including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, machinery (i.e., conveyors) and motorized equipment (i.e., pallet jack, forklift, reach truck, cherry picker)
Skills Required Strong mechanical aptitude 2+ years professional experience in warehouse maintenance or related field Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Outlook Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications Education/Training/Certifications High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or maintenance certification program Certification to drive and conduct repairs on Material Handling Equipment Additional Requirements Schedule: Sunday night to Friday morning. Usually 5:30pm until the shift is done shipping Dress Code: Clothing must promote safe, professional, and productive environment Clean casual/comfortable garments appropriate for warehouse and inclement weather No loose jewelry, clothing, and hair. Sturdy, comfortable closed toe shoes since will be on feet walking all day- MUST BE WAREHOUSE APPROPRIATE Safety reflective vest is strongly recommended Working Conditions: On-call 24/7 to assist with breakdowns of the shipping system – Most issues can be resolved remotely over the phone while collaborating with someone inside the facility This role operates primarily in a warehouse environment around forklifts, conveyors, and automation shipping systems Position requires periods of standing or walking for up to 6 hours at a time. Must be able to walk, stand, climb, balance, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a regular basis Pay Rate/Salary $22.50/hr.
