Our client, a highly respected  heavy civil contractor , is looking for an  Estimator/Project Manager  with  Earthwork / Site Development  experience to join their dynamic team. The right candidate will have at least 5 years experience in estimating  for earthwork construction with a degree in civil engineering or construction management. Position Overview: The  Project Manager - Estimator is responsible for overseeing and managing the planning, execution, and estimation of construction projects related to earthwork and site development. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, project management principles, and cost estimation techniques. The Project Manager-Estimator will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery within budget and schedule constraints.
Key Responsibilities :
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to develop project plans, specifications, and timelines. Ensure that all project activities adhere to relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards. Coordinate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project execution. Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for bridge construction projects, considering factors such as labor, materials, equipment, permits, and overhead costs. Analyze project scope and specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks. Develop bid documents and proposals for potential projects, outlining project scope, budget, and timelines. Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain competitive bids for various project components. Lead project teams by setting clear goals, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress throughout the project lifecycle. Track project milestones, schedules, and budgets, and implement corrective actions as needed to ensure successful project delivery. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, changes, and any potential issues. Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges that may arise during construction. Implement proactive measures to ensure safety and compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Monitor project quality to ensure workmanship, materials, and construction methods meet industry standards and project specifications. Conduct inspections and quality assurance checks to identify and resolve deviations from project requirements. Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and correspondence. Prepare regular reports for management and stakeholders, summarizing project progress, challenges, and financial status. Qualifications and Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Proven experience as a Project Manager and Estimator in earthwork projects. Proficiency in project management software, cost estimation tools, and scheduling software. Strong understanding of construction codes, regulations, and safety standards. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager) are advantageous. Don't miss out on this great opportunity!
