Baler Operator

Duties include:• Safe operations of the tipper/shredder/baler system in the Gresham plant• Loading bales in the mill truck• Housekeeping on baler• Preventative Maintenance on baler as designated by the maintenance department• Banding stacked sheets and load in mill truck• Plant support including:• Sheeting support for roll stock• Shipping support• Support in any other department when needed• Facilities cleanup including outside of plant• Utilize PackSize machine to make cases out of corrugate for the finishing lines• Operate electric Pallet Jacks safely to move WIP or finished pallets.• Maintaining the cleanliness of the area (remove stray cartons, sweep up, etc.) performed during make-ready.• Conducting quality audits as required• Conducting sorting operations as required• Operating Fork Truck (training will be provided)• Operating Clamp Truck (training will be provided)• Providing back-up to the sheeter operator by relieving when on breaks or going to lunch• Running sheeter as required• Be familiar with the sheetfed requirements• Reviewing job ticket• Conducting make ready as required• Inspecting sheets from every roll• Pulling defective sheets as required• Keep Department Managers informed of Safety, Quality or Production issues or improvement opportunities• Become familiar with technical aspects of Sheeter and be able to troubleshoot• Working toward achieving department goals
