Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: Essential
Provides day to day clinic operations management. Provides direct supervision to the clinical team that includes nursing and medical assistants.  Functional supervision is designated as applicable.    Manages staff by performing Interviews, hiring, firing, orientation, performance evaluations, setting rates of pay, salary changes, work schedules and promotions. Works collaboratively with bargained for staff and maintains a sound understanding of local operating agreements. Monitors employee productivity and efficiency and routinely shares data with staff. Provides routine reports to the OHS leadership team. Establishes appropriate workflows and procedures that support clinic activity and volume.   Develops, implements, and manages quality metrics that support clinical activity. Responsible for high level knowledge of OHS electronic systems utilized to support clinical operations.  This includes scheduling, documentation, reporting, billing, and compliance requirements. Facilitate teamwork necessary to support a positive culture and leverage day to day operations. Works with OHS leadership, providers, and others as applicable to coordinate clinic flow and patient care. Identify and monitor operational problems and collaborate with clinic team to resolve them. Assure that fees for services are billed by and to OHS as appropriate. Develops, implements, and provides interpretation and instruction for policies, procedures, and best practices. Serves as a resource to staff and others within the department and Health System Investigates incidents and concerns from employees and patients. Supports in-clinic work for the nursing and medical assistant teams when short-staffed and/or coverage needs dictate additional in-clinic support. Other Related Duties:
Practices within the scope of license, certification, or registration. Complies with all applicable continuing education requirements. Complies with all University of Michigan and departmental standards and expectations. Supports the department's commitment to continuous improvement activities and principles through positive and respectful contribution in all problem-solving and change processes. Performs other duties as assigned. Bachelor's degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing State of Michigan Nursing license 5 years? supervisor/management experience Demonstrated leadership skills, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including experience in conflict resolution and change management. Demonstrates a high standard of personal and professional conduct; possess excellent customer service, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills; and demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse population Demonstrated team player with the ability to work independently Strong organizational and prioritization skills with ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated effective problem solving skills Demonstrated proficiency with computer skills, Microsoft Office software, Outlook and other applicable platforms Able to evaluate and make changes to process, toward continuous quality improvement and solutions oriented Masters degree in a medical field or business administration Experience working within a large, complex healthcare setting. Knowledge of Michigan Medicine policies & procedures. Cisco phone system experience Experience working in an occupational health setting Experience working with an occupational health electronic medical record platform or similar system Physical Requirements: The employee will be able to perform the assigned duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations: ability to work in a sedentary position for long periods of time, ability to communicate/ exchange information, fine motor coordination/dexterity necessary for keyboarding or typing, and may require reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, moving about, lifting of up to 10 pounds, etc., with or without the use of assistive/adaptive devices.
OCCUPATIONAL HAZARD INFORMATION: Staff members may have routine exposure to all chemical inventory, inclusive of hazardous materials, including but not limited to the office, hospital, and clinics.  Chemical inventory reference materials are available to all staff in the form of hard copy and on-line Material Safety Data Sheets. 
Staff may carry out assignments at either or both of two OHS clinics, the main UM medical campus, and/or various campus departments. Staff may drive their personal vehicle and/or walk on uneven surfaces to these various work site locations in all weather conditions on a regular basis.
