YouthBuild National Directors Council VISTA- Compton, CA
The National Directors Council (NDC) functions as an executive body of the National Directors Association, meeting to discuss central issues in greater depth. The NDC makes policy recommendations and guides YouthBuild USA on programmatic issues, policies and standards affecting the Affiliated Network and its YouthBuild programs. The NDC meets at least two times per year with at least one meeting in person, as able. NDC meetings provide insight about the work ahead and the plan for getting this work done, while committees and other engagement opportunities serve as the primary spaces where this work occurs. YouthBuild champions today's opportunity youth who aspire to improve their lives and communities by building the skills and resources to reach their full potential. Through hundreds of YouthBuild programs in the United States and around the globe, these young people pursue their education, prepare for future careers, and grow into community leaders - building brighter futures for themselves, and their neighborhoods.
Member Duties :
The VISTA will build capacity for the National Directors Council (NDC) in deepening the impact and sustainability of the NDC who are responsible for representing 160+ YouthBuild programs nationwide. This will include evaluation of current practices, event planning, preparation of communication and resources, and review and analysis of the organizing documents to ensure they reflect current structure and practices of the Council. The VISTA will develop a process to identify programs that would benefit from support from the National Directors Council.
