Wound Nurse/Infection Prevention (RN) Responsibilities As a Wound Nurse/Infection Prevention Nurse, you will be responsible for the community's general application of the skin management program. This role is also responsible for conducting rounds, discussing and monitoring infection prevention practices with staff members, collecting infection data, maintaining records for each case of healthcare associated infection, conducting outbreak investigations, training staff members on implementation of infection prevention practices, investigating incidents of infections and reporting such incidents to the appropriate person/department, and ensuring availability of supplied required for infection prevention activities. Our Wound Nurses/Infection Prevention Nurses are responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and effective treatment to heal various types of wounds, including surgical openings, ulcers, bed sores, feeding tube sites, and abscesses. Wound Nurses/Infection Prevention Nurses are required to assess wounds, create, and implement treatment plans, monitor infections and signs of various infections, and clean wounds.
Wound Nurse/Infection Prevention (RN) Requirements Graduate of an approved Registered Nurse (RN) program and licensed in the state of practice, required. One year of experience providing specialized treatments in a long-term care setting. Prior Infection Control experience. Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
