Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. The Workforce Infrastructure Veterans Navigator is a point of contact for students pursuing workforce and career-readiness training within the fields of infrastructure and skilled trades. This Navigator will conduct outreach and recruit new students, while providing guidance through registration, payment, and the crosswalk process to help them obtain an associate degree and industry credentials in their desired fields. The Navigator will assist students in overcoming personal hurdles, connecting with businesses for apprenticeships and job placement. The Workforce Infrastructure Veterans Navigator will streamline the enrollment and completion process for students from all backgrounds, including historically underrepresented student groups, military-affiliated students, and individuals with barriers to employment. The Navigator will work closely with Germanna Single Stop Counselors, Veterans Services, Office of Accessibility Resources, Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, Career and Transfer Services, and Academic Advising to provide wraparound support for all students on their caseload. This is a grant-funded position. Continuation of employment is based on funding availability.
