Career Opportunity located in Charleston, SC.

Welding Engineer with a specialization in industrial engineering in a manufacturing facility has been created to support plant expansion and ramp up of production lines.

Leveraging your expertise in welding processes and equipment, you will play a key role in setting up and optimizing welding operations to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards. Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience within a manufacturing environment and Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Welding Engineering.

Understanding of welding processes, equipment and materials. Certified Welding Inspector. Robotic Welding Systems. ERP Systems. LOCAL qualified candidates are preferred.

Salary is $90k+ DOE.

responsibilities:
Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.

Develop and implement welding processes and procedures for new production lines.

Evaluate welding equipment options and make recommendations for purchase or lease.

Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new welding processes.

Optimize welding parameters to maximize efficiency and quality.

Train production staff on proper welding techniques and safety procedures.

Troubleshoot welding issues and implement corrective actions as needed.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to welding operations.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Provide technical support and guidance to the production team as needed.

Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflow and increase productivity

Design and improve manufacturing systems, equipment, and facilities

Conduct time studies and establish standard operating procedures

Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address production issues

Creating routings in our ERP-System
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a focus on welding.

Understanding of welding processes, equipment, and materials.

Understanding of design for fixtures and tooling.

Proven track record of successfully supporting the ramp-up of new production facilities.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Experience with common ERP-Systems
Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in industrial engineering, Welding Engineering, or a related field.

Professional certification in welding (e.g., Certified Welding Inspector).

Experience with robotic welding systems.

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
