Machine Operator Job Description We are currently seeking a Weld Machine Operator to join our team at our facilities located in Decatur and Athens, TN, 37303. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities: Conduct welding setups for production Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors Assemble mechanical components Inspects and measures machined work pieces to verify conformances to specifications Unload parts from machine, inspects parts for quality and place in appropriate containers Examines finished work pieces to verify conformance with specifications according to operator inspection sheet, quality control plans and/or customer notes using instruments such as gauges Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards Change perishable tooling as required (taps, tips, etc.) Basic understanding of computers and ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job Demonstrated detail orientation, self-motivation skills and ability to multi-task Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change Working safely as a condition of employment Other duties as assigned Qualifications: High School diploma or GED is required Must be able to read, write and communicate in English Experience in a manufacturing environment Basic computer skills Excellent communication skills Mechanical assembly skills Special Note - Available Shifts: Decatur, TN (starting in April): Monday - Friday 5:00am - 1:30pm; Monday - Friday 5:00pm - 1:30am ($1.00/hour differential) Athens, TN: Monday - Friday 2:00pm - 10:30pm; Monday - Friday 10:00pm - 6:30am ($1.00/hour differential) You should be proficient in:
