Job Description and Duties
Come be part of a diverse, dynamic, and multi-disciplinary team. Under the general direction of the manager of Statewide Monitoring Network Unit (SMNU), the incumbent at full journey level will work independently or lead water resource technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the SMNU's climate stations.
The incumbent will assemble and calibrate SMNU equipment, sensors, and data collection boxes in addition to being responsible for the satellite transmission electronics. The incumbent will oversee construction improvements of A-frames and cabins at the stations. The incumbent will document the status of the stations for improvement; and assist the engineers and SMNU manager in scoping logistics and upgrades.

Special Requirements
This position is Sacramento home-based where it is expected to be in the office at least two days or more to perform the work in the field. Possession of a valid California driver's license. The ability to camp on site or do regular overnight lodging is required. Traveling to these sites may also require flying via helicopters; riding horse-back, or hiking. Field work may occur during any time of the year. Must be able to safely climb ladders or towers utilizing safety harnesses and safety protocols.
