Waste Profiling Specialist
Position open in the area
Position Overview :
As a Waste Profiling Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate classification, management, and documentation of hazardous and universal waste, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will work closely with environmental scientists, technicians, and regulatory bodies to ensure that waste processing is efficient and environmentally responsible.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze and classify various types of waste material based on chemical composition and potential hazards.
- Prepare and review profiles for waste streams, including detailed descriptions and recommended handling procedures.
- Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure proper packaging, labeling, and transportation of hazardous and universal wastes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards related to waste management.
- Assist in the development and implementation of waste disposal strategies and new waste processing technologies.
- Ensure all waste management documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and support to team members on compliance and safety procedures related to waste management.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies and third-party auditors during inspections and audits, providing necessary documentation and reports.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in hazardous waste management or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of EPA, DOT, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Proficient in the use of waste management software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
