Job Purpose: The Warehouse Associate/Driver works as part of the warehouse operations team performing general warehouse duties including loading, unloading and updating records. The job includes making prompt and courteous deliveries and/or pick-ups of materials/equipment and packages from one location to another, usually warehouse, suppliers, customers, or project sites. Performs all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
Essential Job Functions: Knows location of material/equipment in warehouse. Ensures warehouse is clean and organized at all times; maintains clear aisles and walkwaysDelivers materials to projects as neededCreate transmittals for inventory being delivered when one is not providedLoads trucks accurately and safely for material/equipment deliveriesUnloads equipment at customer location and/or project siteObtain the appropriate transmittal sign-offDrives company vehicle for material/equipment deliveries or pick-ups, obeys traffic laws and safety procedures. Maintains appropriate licensing, credentials and acceptable driving record.Ensures that company vehicles and equipment remain clean, tidy and in good working conditionRetrieves material from the warehouse and other locationsOperates warehouse equipment and vehicles, including trucks, forklifts and pallet jacksBackup to Warehouse AssociateInspects shipments of materials, equipment and supplies received in order to ensure compliance with purchase order specifications. Ability to proficiently use computer software programs or related applications, Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, Excel, and virtual technologies, group voice conferencing, web conferencing (WebEx) and other industry-specific technology tools used within the organization. Willingness to learn additional software applications.
Physical and Environmental Elements: Physical demands:Work is both physically and mentally demanding. Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl for over 2/3 of normal shift. Ability to sit occasionally. Ability to talk and hear regularly. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Ability to frequently use hands or fingers (repetitive hand movement), handle, or feel objects, tools or controls for over 2/3 of normal shift.
Vision:Ability to see at close range (20 inches or less), at a distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), ability to identify and distinguish colors, ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships, and ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
Work Environment:Employees work indoor, outdoor or in warehouse/office environments and are exposed to equipment, tools, dust, and airborne particles. Noise levels are usually moderate. Ability to operate Forklift, when necessary. Ability to use safety equipment including but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots and hardhats.
