Full job description The VP of Design Innovation will play a key role on projects leading all aspects of design. This individual will report to the SVP of Design Innovation. Together, they will serve as NexCore and its subsidiary, Experience Senior Living's, brand ambassadors by coordinating design, innovation, and quality. The role is to be a subject matter expert in the design and planning of outpatient healthcare facilities, and senior living communities.
Key Responsibilites Client-facing company representative, builds relationships with prospective and current clients, works as the company's Design expert to actualize the project vision for the company and the client. Assists in organizing and coordinating third party design consultants to ensure tasks are completed and milestones are achieved. These consultants including civil, architects, MEP, structural, interior design, and other specialty groups. This person must be able to review and provide feedback/comments on multiple projects at once to help formulate critical questions and coordinate answers with stake holders of these projects - including healthcare clients and senior living development and operations. Can comment and bring high design to interior drawings/elevations, interior design (including coordination with FF&E), RCPs, flooring schedules, lighting analysis, and specifications. Develops a comprehensive understanding of the programmatic requirements, standards, and policies for incorporation into the design solution. Assist in creating and documenting brand standards. Leads the planning process by generating building concepts and layout of program elements, including operational flows, and building blocking and stacking. Works closely with administrators, operations, Providers, care team, and other personnel to reach consensus on departmental layout and detailed planning. Develops site plans and test fits, including parking plans and landscape design. Develops, modifies, and/or reviews medical planning concepts, residential unit plans, and planning solutions for all building types. Applies governing regulatory codes and licensing standards, and validates that those requirements for the project are met. Reviews and coordinates the generation of 3D renderings and fly throughs. Conceptualize buildings interiors, select art and furnishings. Collaborates with SVP of Design Innovation and other porject team leads to review, approve, and coordinate design presentations for client meetings. Responsible for preparing and/or reviewing meeting minutes and other appropriate documents for client and consultant coordination meetings. Actively promotes and incorporates the firm's brand through the integration of responsible and sustainable design practices. Collaborates with the Design and Construction, Development, and Capital teams in managing the project design to satisfy requirements from budget and schedule perspective while delivering a quality work product. Supports the business development process by assisting with proposals and interviews. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Education:
Bachelors Degree in Architecture - Required Licenses:
Registration in Architecture (NCARB) - Required Certifications in ACHA, EDAC, LEED, LEAN, WELL or sustainable design - Preferred Work Experience:
6+ years experience in ambulatory healthcare and senior living design - Required Skills:
Experience with architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling software (SketchUp, Rhino, or other) required Proficient knowledge of guidelines for design (FGI) for Outpatient Facilities and Residential Healthcare Advanced knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into implementation documents Strong presentation skills Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time Benefits Compensation: $110,000 - $145,000 / year Eligible for discretionary benefits: performance bonus Elgibble for standard employee benefit elections: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, FSA, HSA, Commuter Benefits, Employee Assistance Program, Life Insurance (employee and dependents), Short-term disability (STD), Long-term disability (LTD), Accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D), vacation days, sick days, and other benefits Travel: This position may require some travel Disclaimer:
