We are seeking a Vice President, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Federal Sector, who will be a cornerstone of our leadership team, making a substantial impact by advocating for cybersecurity advancements at strategic and industry events. In this multifaceted role, you'll be instrumental in supporting our strategic sales endeavors, fostering relationships with both potential and existing clients to guide our engineering and product development efforts. As a beacon of thought leadership in the technology realm, you embody a comprehensive grasp of Cybersecurity and/or IT/Security related fields. Your role is crucial in bridging the gap between business acumen and technological expertise, engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders from business leaders to technical experts. This role requires an individual who is adept at navigating conversations with Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and collaborating seamlessly with our internal teams.
Responsibilities:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with C-suite executives, leveraging your industry expertise to foster meaningful engagements.
Transition effortlessly between business and technical discussions, ensuring you're a comfortable and competent participant in either realm.
Lead and participate in industry leadership events to bolster our market presence and influence.
Drive initiatives to position ourselves as thought leaders, collaborating with marketing and field teams.
Synthesize customer feedback and industry trends to inform and influence our product and engineering strategies.
Work closely with Product Marketing and Demand Generation teams to support pipeline development through strategic customer engagements and thought leadership contributions.
Advance our technical prowess through the development of reference architectures, technical materials, and best practices, elevating the knowledge of our internal teams.
Define and communicate our technology strategy, ensuring alignment with market needs and company objectives.
Spearhead product development efforts, prioritizing initiatives that align with market demands.
Conduct in-depth research on emerging technologies and provide analyses on their potential impact and alignment with our strategic goals.
Create and manage lab environments for rapid prototyping and validation of solutions.
Manage technical resources sponsored by vendors, aligning their contributions with our strategic objectives.
Evaluate and onboard innovation partners based on their technical merit and strategic alignment.
Cultivate relationships with Venture Capital, Private Equity firms, leading universities, and research institutions to stay abreast of technology trends and influence investment strategies.
Qualifications:
A rich background with over 15 years in leading complex information security initiatives in IT environments; experience in regulated industries or government sectors, and relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP) are highly valued.
Top Secret Security Clearance.
Proven expertise in engaging and influencing senior executives within the Public Sector, particularly in the Federal domain.
A history of customer-facing roles, with a knack for articulating both strategic and technical concepts effectively.
A track record of thought leadership, engaging with stakeholders across the industry spectrum.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively, potentially exceeding 50% of the time.
Demonstrated success in strategy, product, or solution delivery with a focus on secure deployment.
Experienced in leading change management to adopt new security methodologies across enterprise-scale programs.
Autonomous decision-making capabilities in complex scenarios, with a solid risk management perspective.
Comprehensive knowledge in various security domains, with expertise in at least one primary area such as security operations, incident response, architecture, risk, privacy, or public cloud security.
Forward-thinking with the ability to adapt and evolve security programs to address emerging technologies.
