Overview: For 40 years Family House has been providing affordable housing for our guests that are traveling to Pittsburgh for Healthcare.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as the Volunteer Coordinator. As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers. This is a vital role in our organization as volunteers play a crucial role in supporting our mission and programs.
Duties:
- Develop and implement strategies for recruiting volunteers.
- Promote volunteer opportunities and engage potential volunteers
- Design and deliver training programs for volunteers to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge
- Utilize social media platforms to promote volunteer opportunities and engage with the community
- Provide leadership and guidance to volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive environment
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer information using a database system
- Collaborate with other departments to identify volunteer needs and develop appropriate volunteer assignments
- Evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer programs and make recommendations for improvement
Skills:
- Strong experience in volunteer management, preferably in a social work or nonprofit setting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Proven track record in developing and delivering training programs for volunteers
- Proficient in social media management platforms for promoting volunteer opportunities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and supervise a team of volunteers
