Job Description We are seeking a creative and adept Video Editor to join our team at Jellyfish, a powerhouse in creative media production. This position is designed for a professional with a proven ability in crafting engaging content tailored for always-on social media channels for a globally recognized brand. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a dynamic work environment, similar to the fast energy of a newsroom. In this role, you will contribute significantly to the narrative and visual style of cutting-edge content across all social media platforms.
Your Role This role is tailored for a Video Editor who is passionate about storytelling and excels in the creation and adaptation of content for social media. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in both new content creation and the repurposing of existing media into fresh, engaging narratives for social media. You will also be responsible for creating smart and engaging social assets for popular television shows and films. Ideally, you're a cinephile at heart and have a deep passion for the entertainment industry, which will be integral to your role.
Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with social producers, creatives, content creators, and other editors to brainstorm, plan, and execute dynamic video content tailored to specific social media platforms and audiences. Collaborate closely with animators and designers to ensure cohesive and innovative content creation that aligns with project briefs and goals. Employ advanced editing techniques to cut, splice, and apply effects, ensuring each piece of content is visually stunning, perfected against brand guidelines, and aligned with the project's goals. Contribute to the creative process by offering innovative ideas and solutions that elevate our content and engage our diverse audiences. Stay ahead of social media trends and advancements in video editing technology to ensure our content remains fresh, relevant, and impactful. Engage in constructive team meetings and feedback sessions, embracing opportunities to refine and adapt content in line with collaborative insights. Prioritize tasks and maintain attention to detail under tight deadlines. Qualifications Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Production, or a closely related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in video editing with a demonstrated track record of creating engaging content for social media, including reimagined narratives from existing media. Entertainment experience. Expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Premiere Pro and After Effects, and familiarity with the latest video production technologies. Excellent knowledge of fast-paced, post-production workflows. Strong storytelling capabilities, with an innate understanding of how to craft compelling narratives that resonate with various audiences. Proven ability to work collaboratively in team settings, contributing positively to a creative and dynamic work environment. Experience working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines, akin to a newsroom or live broadcast production setting. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying creative ideas and receiving constructive feedback.
