Job title Victim Advocate , Full-Time Reports to Director and Assistant Director Location Office for Child and Youth Protection Overtime Non-Exempt, Based on Job Duties Job purpose The coordinator will provide comprehensive assistance to survivor survivors of child sexual abuse by representatives of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The coordinator will also provide assistance to the victim's family members.
Duties and responsibilities Provide support and assistance to victims/survivors and family members by: Providing comprehensive case management services, supportive counseling and assessment of needs in a proactive manner. Responding to calls, walk-ins and emails in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborating with mental health and other service providers. Assist in resolving service provider billing matters. Providing appropriate social service referrals. Providing information on available services. Collaborating with victim service and other agencies as needed. Provide crisis intervention services to victims and parish communities. Support office efforts to prevent child abuse and promote healing through various methods including serving on office committees and workgroups. Maintain client privacy. Maintain electronic and hardcopy client records. Represent the organization to the public in person, via phone or e-mail in a professional manner. Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve the office. Successful completion of mandatory Safe Environment trainings as well as continuing education via trainings and seminars. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree required. Specialized Knowledge Understanding of the issue of sexual abuse and violence and trauma-informed care practices. Knowledge and experience providing trauma informed support. Working knowledge of and comfort with Catholic faith and parish life is required. Abilities Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi-task, and manage and meet deadlines in a motivated, effective way required Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, program partners, stakeholders of all demographic and professional levels. Ability to work collaboratively as a team and build relationships with a wide range of staff, volunteers, clients, partners, and all stakeholders in the community, across cultures and ethnic backgrounds, is essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong verbal and communication presence is critical. Travel within five counties of the Archdiocese may be required occasionally. Position is contingent on successful completion of a criminal background check. Successful completion of mandatory Safe Environment trainings. Licenses None Experience Experience working within victim and child advocacy professions. Working conditions This position is expected to be carried out Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. May require working on evenings and weekends.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tool or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 30lbs.
