As the Vice President of Operations at Spokane Sports, you will play a pivotal role in the organization. Responsibilities include developing, directing, and implementing all operational aspects of the organization, with a focus on leading core internal functions such as compliance, finance, legal, risk management, and business administration. Collaborating closely with the CEO, you will drive vision and strategy for key initiatives. In addition, this role will oversee administration, logistics, and technical event teams to achieve the organization's goal of being a premier host city while positively impacting the region.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Collaborate with the CEO to drive operational initiatives and implement the strategic plan.
· Work strategically across departments, acting as a solutions-oriented point person–enhancing organizational capabilities, optimize business efficiency, and implement cost-saving interventions.
· Effectively lead, inspire, and mentor department and function leads to advance the organizational goals.
· Drive organizational strategy and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support Spokane Sports' mission and core values.
· Oversee risk assessment and mitigation, insurance policies, emergency action plans, and non-profit compliance and reporting efforts.
· Take initiative to lead research, analyze challenges, evaluate systems, and develop solutions to advance organizational programs, services, policies, and procedures.
· Support logistics and technical event teams in the management and administration of sports events across all sizes and scope.
· Responsible for all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring financial goals and guardrails are adhered to.
· Lead finance efforts including contracted financial team, CPA firm, financial institutions, and both public and private funding sources.
· Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual finance reports for the Finance & Audit Committee, Board and CEO.
· Provide financial analysis, annual budgets, monitor cash flow, assist with the completion of the annual audit/financial review, and 990 completions.
· Advise on major financial decisions including event hosting opportunities, commercial real estate, investments, endowments, and organizational requests and priorities.
· Play a vital role in facility development including consultation, design, partnership structure, and delivery.
· Participate in various conferences, leadership roundtables, boards, and associations to stay connected in best practices, trends, the competitive landscape, and participate in thought-level leadership discussions.
· Demonstrate advanced communication skills, diplomacy, and tact in complex situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Essential qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of six years of operations and business administration experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
· The ideal candidate for this position should be a mission-driven professional that is approachable and possesses a solutions-focused leadership style, and strong communication skills.
· Ability to maintain composure during events, meetings, when hosting clients, and when faced with competing priorities.

· Competitive compensation with a target salary of $135,000 per year
· 15% bonus target, prorated for the remainder of 2024.
