The Role
As the Vice President of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial vitality and sustainability of BGCWPA. Leading our financial operations, you will be a key member of the leadership team, managing a dynamic accounting team and overseeing internal and external audits. This role requires a strategic mindset, financial acumen, and a passion for supporting the growth of a non-profit organization with a budget exceeding $9 million and a diverse team of 150-200 full and part-time employees.
Successful candidates will possess:
A hands-on approach and collaborative spirit across departments.
Strong leadership and delegation skills.
Experience leading non-profit accounting for an organization receiving various local, state, and federal government grants.
Understanding the importance of maintaining donor records for stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership:

Oversee all aspects of the organization's finances, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, payroll, grants management, and audits.
Team Oversight:

Lead and manage a dedicated team, including a part-time Controller, full-time Assistant Controller/Accounts Receivable, full-time Accounts Payable, and part-time Data Entry
Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to establish and achieve both long-term and short-term financial objectives. Partner with the advancement team to oversee grant awards and collaborate with the operations and programs team to efficiently reconcile expenses.
Cash Flow Management:

Develop and implement a reliable cash flow projection process, ensuring the organization's operating needs are met.
Budget Development and Tracking:

Lead the development, management, and performance tracking of the organization's budget, providing insights and recommendations for financial efficiency.
Grant Management:

Oversee grant, invoicing, and reporting requirements, ensuring robust systems for management, communication, and accountability.
Audit Preparation:

Ensure accurate and timely audit preparation, serving as the primary liaison with the audit firm to guarantee compliance with all financial controls.
Policy and Control:

Establish financial safeguard policies and internal controls to uphold organizational stewardship of financial resources.
Insurance Management:

Manage organizational insurance coverage, including workmen's compensation, general liability, auto coverage, and directors' and officers' policies.
Technology Integration:

Manage accounting systems for the organization, leveraging technology for efficient financial operations.
Human Resources:

Oversee financial activities associated with human resources, including payroll, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance.
Your Skills And Experiences
Bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, accounting, or finance, preferred.
Progressive experience in financial management roles, with a focus on Controller/Accounting Manager responsibilities, preferably within a non-profit or mission-driven organization.
Demonstrated supervisory experience with strong leadership, delegation skills, and a proven ability to thrive as an inclusive leader within culturally diverse communities.
Proven ability to lead finances for an organization receiving large grants/contracts from Federal, State, or Philanthropic funding sources.
In-depth understanding of accounting principles, receivables, and federal and state financial obligations.
Experience with financial systems such as NetSuite Cloud Accounting, ADP payroll, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite is a plus.
Compensation
Competitive salary starting at $115,000. This is an exempt position and benefits include medical and dental insurance, 401K match, and generous paid time off.
Location
The office is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and this position may require up to 10% travel to other BGC sites locally.
Hours
In-office and flexible schedule.

Certifications and Clearances
BGCPWA prioritizes the safety of the youth we serve. CPR, Pediatric First Aid, Child Abuse, Criminal History, FBI clearance, NSOR certificate, PA Disclosure, PA Staff Health Assessment, TB Test, and Mandated Reporter certification required upon hire or within 6 months.
