The Vice President of Development plays a critical role in identifying opportunities and closing transactions for new luxury hotels and co-located residencesResponsibilities include reviewing potential hotel and residential opportunities, negotiating agreements, and maximizing returns on investmentsThe ideal candidate has at least ten years of experience in real estate development, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong contact base in the hotel investment and development sector

Responsibilities
• Review and analyze potential luxury hotel conversion, new-build, or acquisition opportunities• Oversee all aspects of the hotel development process internal to Marriott International• Own the underwriting process for proposed co-located residential projects• Negotiate terms and conditions of hotel management and development agreements• Provide guidance on minimizing risk related to residential projects• Work with Marriott's Treasury and Project Finance departments to maximize returns on investments• Assist owners and developers with financing options• Attend public hearings and meetings with regulatory agencies• Track the competitive landscape in target markets• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Ten or more years of real estate development, luxury hotel, and/or residential industry experience• Excellent interpersonal skills and capability of building lasting relationships• Strategic, critical, and analytical thinking• Mature and professional demeanor• Strong contact base and reputation in the hotel investment and development sector• Familiarity with capital markets• Broad business view and sharp business acumen• Excellent communication, coaching, mentoring, negotiation, and mediation skills• Self-starter and strong team player• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Real Estate, Hotel Administration or Business; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
