JOB TITLE: Vendor Quality Manager
REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Platform Procurement
SUMMARY: Aligned Data Centers manages a substantial supply chain consisting of mechanical and electrical data center equipment. Our supply chain and our network of vendor partners have grown exponentially in recent years. We are expanding our team to include a Vendor Quality Manager, who will be tasked with developing, implementing, and overseeing a new vendor quality program. The goal of this program will be to drive continuous improvement of Aligned's product through their supply chain partners. This position requires excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. The Vendor Quality Manager will work in a team environment under limited supervision, which will require high level organizational and time management skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (to include, but not limited to):
* Development of a vendor quality program designed to proactively prevent vendor quality issues from leaving the factory and tracking all equipment quality issues across our entire network of equipment vendor partners.
* Investigate and lead efforts to resolve issues and complaints related to quality.
* Collaborate with the internal Operations team to drive overall excellence the quality of the program.
* Determine the root cause of vendor product and process related issues and assist in the development of effective corrective and preventive actions.
* Conduct quality audits at vendor facilities.
* Visit Aligned Data Centers' project sites to audit equipment quality and vendor field service activities.
* Maintain and document quality program data and provide regular reporting to management.
* Provide regularly scheduled feedback to equipment vendors focused on ensuring high quality of all purchased equipment.
* Engage with various teams inside of and outside of Aligned Data Centers to drive best practices, including operations, construction, engineering, senior leadership, sales, general contractors, and commissioning agents.
* Foster and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with our vendor partners.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* 10+ years working on quality program creation and management at the factory level.
* Solid track record of quality system development and management.
* Experienced and familiar with the principles of Six Sigma.
* Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
* Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO9002) and supplier auditing.
* Strong computer and software skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
* Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to multi-task, with strong time management and organizational skills.
* Desire to work in an extremely fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
* Must have a strong attention to detail.
* Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality always.
* Ability to partner with cross-functional leadership and departments.
* Ability to travel 25% of the time but with periods of travel up to 50%.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Experience with data center equipment, commissioning and operation.
* Awareness and experience with manufacturing processes.
